Plasma Facial Therapy
What if we told you that you that you had the power to reverse the signs of aging, including wrinkles acne scars and stretch marks from within. That’s right, the latest and greatest in skin care technology comes from you, literally. When it comes to wiping out wrinkles and getting rid of acne scars and even stretch marks, the growth factors carried in your own blood could be the secret to turning back the hands of time.
HOW IT WORKS
Plasma Facial Therapy uses your own plasma to treat wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks. A small amount of blood is taken from you and then placed in a centrifuge. By doing this we separate out a portion of blood called Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). The plasma is then activated releasing at least six regeneration promoting growth factors. These growth factors stimulate stem cells in your skin, tricking them into thinking an injury has occurred. In response, new collagen, blood vessels and elastin are released. A youthful appearance is generated.
To apply the plasma, first the skin is treated with a microneedling pen that makes microscopic channels in your skin. The plasma is then painted on and is absorbed through these channels. Since it’s your own plasma you needn’t worry about getting an infection or an allergic reaction.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma?
Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma, also known as PRP, is a high concentration of your own platelets in a small volume of plasma.
How much blood is withdrawn?
A very small amount of blood is taken, only about two teaspoons full.
How long does a treatment take?
The blood draw takes just a couple of minutes, followed by a 10 minute centrifugation. Microneedling and application of the PRP takes about 20 to 30 minutes. The whole procedure, from beginning to end, is about 45 minutes.
How many sessions are required?
For general skin improvement one treatment may suffice, though more is better. For acne scarring, wrinkles or stretch marks we recommend three sessions 6 weeks apart for the maximal effect. You can buy a package of three treatments with a 20% discount.
How long do the effects last?
Improvement occurs over two to three months. The effects last for a year or more.
Is Plasma Facial Therapy painful?
The PRP is close to a physiologic pH, which means the product is less likely to cause a stinging or burning sensation. There may be some temporary discomfort or possible redness and inflammation at the application site, but this quickly resolves.
How successful is the treatment?
The Vampire Facelift, which is similar to Plasma Facial Therapy, has an 85% approval rating on RealSelf.com.
