Skin Tightening/Body Contouring with AccentTM

Nothing can make you look older than sagging and loose skin. We’re talking about the double chin, the sagging skin under the arms and the creping skin around the eyes, just to mention a few common complaints. Laser treatments have some effect on these problems but Accent XLTM is specifically designed for these problems. Accent XLTM can be used throughout the body to treat sagging skin, including the face, around the eyes, the chin, the neck, under the arms and on thighs, buttock and abdomen.

Accent XLTM works through dual layer radiofrequency thermotherapy, treating two different layers of the skin, one with unipolar and the other with bipolar energy. The bipolar energy treats the more superficial layers of the skin and the unipolar energy penetrates more deeply. Precise delivery of the thermal energy causes remodeling of the collagen on different levels and as a result:

» Collagen fibers contract and multiply, which firms the skin and improves laxity

» Connective tissue contracts to improve the skin's contour, texture and architecture

» Circulation improves and retained fluids drain from subcutaneous adipose tissue to reduce edema, redness and overall volume

The overall effect is tighter, firmer and more youthful skin. The results can be dramatic.

As to the specifics of a treatment session, each session generally lasts 30 minutes but the time can vary from patient to patient. There is no downtime. You can immediately resume your normal activities. Most people describe at worst a mild discomfort during treatment, though the experience of pain is individual. The discomfort, again, is generally mild and does not approach that which patients used to experience with older technologies. Patients usually look normal immediately following a procedure, though your skin may be slightly red. In general a course of treatments separated from each other by four to six weeks is required. All skin types can be treated. The effects of a course of therapy are not permanent and touch-ups are required to maintain results.
