Not all mistakes are permanent
Creams don’t work. Balms don’t work. And wishing certainly doesn’t work. But lasers do.
At Vivesse Med Spa we can remove your tattoo.
Tattoo removal is now possible with modern laser light technology.
With older lasers used in laser tattoo removal, such as CO2 and argon lasers, scarring occurred since those treatments removed the skin along with the tattoo. At Vivesse in Bloomfield, CT we use the state of the art switched laser from Alma Lasers. Our laser tattoo removal machine comes with three different wavelengths of laser light to treat a full spectrum of tattoo colors including dark blue, black, red, orange, yellow, purple, blue, sky blue, green and violet inks. This tattoo removal technology works by targeting the ink granules of the tattoo. As the ink absorbs the energy, it gets broken into tiny particles. These particles are then absorbed by your body’s natural filtering system.

most asked questions and benefits
What types of tattoos can be removed?
With the Quanta laser system we can remove professional, amateur (homemade), traumatic and surgical tattoos.
How long will tattoo removal take?
Laser tattoo removal is not a quick fix. You should plan on 5 to 10 sessions separated by 6 to 8 weeks. Amateur tattoos can be treated faster than professional tattoos. Also, different inks respond differently to laser energy.
What colors can be removed with laser tattoo removal?
There are over 100 shades of ink used in tattoos, none of which are FDA regulated. All of them vary in their response to laser energy. Thus, for any tattoo it may be difficult to predict the response. Dark (blue, black) and red inks will resolve the best. Oranges and purples usually fade as well. Green and yellow inks are the most difficult to remove, and additional laser treatments are needed to produce significant fading.
Will my tattoo completely disappear?
In many cases, yes. More than 95% fading of the tattoo can generally be accomplished with laser tattoo removal. Again, the response depends on the specifics of your tattoo and on the inks that were used. The tattoo removal practitioner cannot predict the degree of removal of a given tattoo without knowing the tattoo ink which was used, or how deeply it was applied.
Is laser tattoo removal painful?
Most patients describe laser treatment as mildly uncomfortable. A common description is that it feels like a rubber band snapping on the skin. It is certainly less painful than the initial application of the tattoo. Anesthetics and pain meds are not necessary, though numbing creams may be used during and after the tattoo removal procedure.
What about downtime after laser tattoo removal?
There is no downtime with this procedure. You can go back to work and resume all normal activities immediately. Our only recommendations are that you avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and aspirin for a day, and keep the area bandaged for a few days.
Are there tattoo removal side-effects?
Post-treatment scarring is rare with laser tattoo removal. There may be some minor pin-point bleeding and more sensitive patients experience some discomfort. But, the procedure is very well tolerated with minimal difficulties.
